Hello, Overjoyed! Hopefully DW will cooperate with me enough to post this!? lord almighty... Anyways! I'm Christy and I'm bringing you your future """hero""", Handsome Jack from the Borderlands series! If you're not familiar with Borderlands, the best way to describe Jack is that he's a walking shitpost that says stupid things constantly, is a godawful human being with a delusional hero complex, but is weirdly likeable and funny. So, essentially, I'm so sorry??

For Overjoyed, this is all still essentially true, but his AU has given his backstory a few tweaks, which you can read on his application in detail if you're interested! But essentially rather than working for Hyperion, Jack is instead working quite hard for the Company instead, since he has big dreams of taking them over and reforming it from the inside. Of course, this is reforming it to his twisted specifications, but, eh, who's keeping track of that. For now, he's a semi-high ranking manager of a sector in the Prisoner Intake Facility, so if your character is either a RAC agent or a criminal, they probably know of him! And since this is the beginning of the game, this also means there's plenty of opportunity to assume CR!

So while this is a general intro post on one hand, I'd also love to hash out any pre-established CR you might be interested in, since Jack has been here for the full five years, so there are plenty of chances to have run into him. If you have an idea, hit me up! I'm super open to them, since I'm all for skipping intro threads and jumping straight into CR!

Hiii! This is just my formal declaration to harass Jack because he's had to deal with Kanda and Lavi swears some killjoys have a pleasant demeanor (even if they're actually stone cold but yk). Ugh yes please do!! It cracks me up that all of his RAC agents were grumpy ones because that is a beautiful polar opposite to Jack's personality... Like he super doesn't mind because he will be his obnoxious self regardless but less stick in the mud people at least find him funny gosh!!

UMM I'm thinking of setting up a pre-game log.. Lavi is generally the one sent to handle talking to people because lol Kanda we use our words not our knives.. maybe a warrant or another that specifically designated being handed off to Jack and not just at Intake itself?

OOOR just a warrant briefing since that would give them more reason to talk than Lavi just ":3 hi here's the dirtbag you ordered he kinda smells! thanks for your business!" If it was a level 3 or below it could be just lavi x jack one on one time (who stepford smile more?!) or..

I really like the first idea, especially since Jack is probably a frequent user of the warrant system himself! It's totally possible that he would have put out the warrant requesting the person come to him specifically because he had his own Plans for them, but. If that's a little too morally questionable for it to be feasible, then I'd guess that Jack probably has the kind of reputation where he might be known for dealing with Bad Dudes personally, so I can see a warrant having a request to be sent to Jack's sector pretty easily too...

Though as I type this out, this could probably lead into part two there anyways! Like Jack handles the processing, then decides to see about hiring Lavi (+ Kanda?) for a warrant of his own possibly...? Though I will say keeping Jack talking is not hard, so it shouldn't be too difficult to keep the conversation flowing lmao... He's a talker.

Anyway, moving on to more interesting stuff -- Riza's an Enforcer, and been one for several years now even though she's only been 'in-game' for about a year. If you wanna go ahead and assume they've got a working relationship (maybe he hassles her squad to go round up sketchy folks every now and then when he's too lazy for a warrant) I'm game. That said she will definitely not appreciate his constant stream of verbal stupidity but hey, all the more reason for him to natter away at her. 8)

I'd say you can read my app for more details but actually don't because I wrote most of it in a panic-induced haze and now I just have Immense Regret.

Ooh, a Company employee! I'm Sana and I'm playing Akemi/Ginshu from Amatsuki. His background is complicated as hell, but in short he's a wildly unethical, batshit crazy neuroscientist who's intentionally implanted himself with a false memories (his split personality is actually quite pleasant, though). Akemi was arrested 5 years ago for crimes against humanity and other science fun, but the Company bailed him out of prison because you don't just let a quality mad scientist go to waste. So maybe he met Jack when he was captured by the RAC? They're both charismatically insane, they're both terrible dads, they both have crackpot idealist goals... I think they'd be bestest friends.

And very proud of it!!

Gosh though, that sounds super fun, and I'd love to have some CR with this yes! Hell, considering Jack has an eye for good people/talent, it's totally possible he could have played a hand in hooking Akemi/Ginshu up with the Company lmao... ah! gosh, hi christy! look at my little criminal looking boy--he isn't one, but his father sure was! his dad was well-known scientist back in the day (13+ years ago) and turned his other son into a full android so that was a huge scandal and then he killed his son and himself bc he went crazy... it was a crime but david elster died before he was arrested but we can play it out that jack has heard of david elster bc of how that story spread throughout the quad if you'd like! i'll be playing leo as someone who's been given a difficult time because of his family name so we can also play it out as jack keeping tabs on him just in case. if you're interested, ofc!
