To help you get started, here are some potential quick notes for things you could do with these prompts--but feel free to expand or come up with something entirely on your own!

Prompt Notes

The Nine

All with significant Qreshi ties have been summoned to a party thrown by Lady Kendry aboard a pleasure ship in orbit of Qresh itself. It's advertised as a social gathering, but in reality will be used to discuss and push forward an official response to the repeal of the Seventh Generation Accords.

RAC agents and Company employees have been tasked with the event's security, and will be stationed both aboard the ship and required to patrol the flightpath in their own vessels.

The Company

Bonuses are given to those who punished rioters with brutal force, while those deemed too 'soft' by the Company are given acclimation training. Those assigned to this training will be partnered with a stricter officer and sent to a volatile area to complete a mission. Finally, stress training has been offered to all - and made mandatory for some - in light of the worsening situation on the streets of Old Town.

Westies

The riots have waned, people splintering off to their own spheres. Some return to work, some join the Resistance, and some take advantage of the chaos to assert control. Gangs calling themselves 'Resistance' have sprung up all over town, and take their territory very seriously. Attacks on those with assumed Company sympathies grow more frequent, the lack of a side assumed by both the Company and the faux Resistance to be the wrong side.

Leithians

Ripples of the disorder gripping Westerley are beginning to rock the tenuous peace on Leith. The Resistance movement has spread, its righteous hatred with it, gathering groups - some independent and some connected to their sister organizations on Weaterley - focused on change. Strikes come and go, chants nothing but echos of those from weeks before, dispersing as quickly as they form. Neighbors grow distrustful as land reallocation drives funds away from humanitarian efforts to focus on security and familial financial safety. Scattered throughout this are kidnappings, a few members of closed societies disappearing with little trace. Towards the end of the chapter, a major hokk farm becomes the target of an arson attack, clogging the air with ash for days.

Even still, Leithians respond with near uniform disregard, keeping their heads down and hoping to avoid catching the Company's gaze--and authority--in the wrong light.

Resistance

The riots and discontent of the previous chapters have seen this faction's number swell. But with no clear pillar of leadership and only the myth of Hyperion available for most people, rival factions are born with their own political agendas. Many of them feed into the rumors about the mysterious Hyperion figure, painting a dark picture of a secretive and too-polished ruler who's too disconnected from the people to truly care about their plight.

Meanwhile, Hyperion allows the rumors to build without comment, growing its cells and continuing to hand out missions and intel from the shadows. Each team is given a compartmentalized mission with little connection between their last run, but when the parts come together to form a whole towards the end of the chapter... the future promised by Hyperion takes a dark, bloodier turn than some may be able to abide.

The RAC

With the lower level evaluations completed, it's time for the RAC to focus on both bolstering their top-most field ranks and weeding out and agents that have lost their ability to remain impartial. Any Level 4 killjoy that wants to test for level 5 needs to sign up for a Level 5 warrant on the warrant post. Additionally, there will be sign up threads for any killjoys that want to be ousted and lose their position within the RAC.

Please note - anyone who loses their position as a killjoy will be dropped into Westerley as a temporary citizen. It will be up to the character to find employment that allows for long term work visa status.

Major Plot Points

Metaplot: Digital Dreams

Due to the way the meshwork interacts with the memory modification chips implanted into characters' brains, their subconsciouses may be projected to any other character with modified memories. All characters may participate in this event, regardless of their level of activity on the network, though frequent users will find themselves the subject of more broadcasts.

These visions occur only when both parties are unconscious - this includes sleeping, high, or drunken states. You may take scenes from your character's AU history, canon history, or mere fantasies they have and work through them as you chose. The only requirements are as follows:

✗ There must be blue-green auras pervading where they should not, a dissonance with any memory or fantasy that is not your character's own subconscious creation. Some may also see an abandoned laboratory, though its presence will only be in disjointed flashes, and its purpose unclear.

✗ The observing character will be pervaded by the emotions of the character having the dream. Rather than this being a complete personality overwrite, it's more of an emotional resonance between the dreamer and the visiting character so that, if they find themselves in an urgent situation, both will feel the tension, or heartbreak will be felt by both, etc…

✗ The character having the dream will awaken with blurry memories of the event at most, while the character visiting the dream may remember things more vividly.

✗ Characters do not know, or care, that they are dreaming. Cognitive dissonance may enable them to have some idea that they're not conscious, but 'waking up' will not occur to them, nor will questioning how they've arrived to the dreamscape. As the location will seem natural to the character having the dream, the visitor will also feel 'right' being there in that moment.

✗ There is no limit to the amount of dreams you may have. As such, we encourage you to create your own logs for this part of the plot.

Resistance - Hyperion Missions & Recruitment

Due to some drops, we'll be opening up the Hyperion teams again for recruitment. Depending on the number of characters who sign up, we may create an additional team and safehouse set up. Please sign up using this top-level! Sign ups will remain open until 3/20.

New missions will be disseminated through the team NPCs (mod-controlled) on their respective calendar dates but will be much more subdued than the first and second waves in order to allow everyone time to continue working on their original missions.

RAC - Promotions (or Demotions)

We will be contacting players who signed up for last chapter's evaluations (Level 1-4) to find out the outcome! As long as you've started the thread, you're welcome to handwave/continue working on it in the meantime and we'll mark it as a success (or failure, if you like) when it's announced ICly on W7D3.

Level 5 evaluations will be open to all Level 4 characters--whether they were recently promoted or not--and announced ICly on W7D6. Level 5 evals will be done with the evaluating agent leading a Level 5 kill warrant (obtained from the monthly warrant posting) and at least one other killjoy. Since these evaluations will be handled by NPCs, you'll need to form temporary teams (if you're not already part of them). Similar to how we've handled the lower-level evals, we'll check in with you next chapter to see the success or failure of the evaluation!

(Note, however, that killjoys who have a marked history of psychological instability will encounter evaluations which specifically test their mental fortitude and ability to abide the RAC's oath of neutrality.)

Sign ups will be handled via the monthly warrant posting where you'll receive your customized warrant prompt. You are welcome to include non-killjoy characters in your team, but at least one of your teammates should be on the RAC roster.

Company Acclimation and Training

Based on your reports during last AC, characters who did not follow Company mandate or did so in a way that cost their employers punitive damages, characters have been assigned to stress and/or acclimation training. The specific details of what that training entails can be found in the chapter log, but outside of those parameters, you are free to create your own teams and particulars as best suits your interests. The only provision is that a character slotted for acclimation training should be paired with a character who is not -- i.e., someone who received accolades for their conduct by being granted higher weapon clearance.

Secondary Faction Goals: Make a safehouse in the Bandlands, dabbling in research to bolster Westerley's resistance and fighting forces (...through human experimentation...) in the event that war well and truly should break out, making resistance ties, and miscellaneous do-gooding.

Primary Faction Goals:
Julius is going to have to pass that acclimation test, whoops - he's made his mistakes and he has to pay for them. He can probably pass it but have another criss in private so he needs to sort that out soonish! I'm all up for getting him to talk to more people to broaden his perspective and people telling him that he needs to rest and chill, bc he's slowly dying + coughing up blood :') Sion will be giving him surgery in the latter half of the month to hopefully make things easier for him, so he'll probably be out of commission starting for W8D3 so if any CR wants to check up on him, we can also do something about this!

Secondary Faction Goals:
Not much! Mostly I'd like to get him some support + people who also feel the same about the situation as him, which is that too many selfish people are here. He's secretly Resistance sympathetic, but he can't show that at all.

Desired CR: FRIENDS ... idk, people to actually care about him & notice that he's not necessarily working for the Company because he wants to; negative CR is also good and very easy to acquire, though. Still needs a little more pushing to make those Resistance ties, but the guilt he feels over the riots will help that in a big way. (thinking about just going the pressed-into-service Hyperion route also)
Offered CR: A partner for party security, perhaps? He also earned accolades (that he does not appreciate or want) for his ruthless behavior at the riots, so if you're a nicer Company person and need someone for the acclimation training, he's your guy.

Dreams-wise, I'm thinking about stuff from possibly both his mangled AU and canon memories--mixes of experimentation, both magic and technological. PROBABLY SOMETHIN' GROSS with his time as a slave ... and something gross, but in a different way, with Hawke, perhaps?!

Primary Faction Goals: i'm pretty down to have him do the stress training!! he can't fly ships but he knows a fair bit about them, which means he'll be able to tackle some of the failures that come up. 8) he won't be doing it for any other reason than to "prove himself", and to get some trust back with the company. that being said —
Secondary Faction Goals: because things are getting intense and fitz, as some R&D engineer in the company, has zero reasons to get involved, he'll absolutely get involved!! i've more or less pretended he has a healthy list of clients he makes/fixes tech (or weapons, he's less picky these days) for, so not... pretending would be great. if this gets him to go behind the company's back and do some Shady Resistance Stuff, i'd love that even more!!
Desired CR: he's new so the obligatory anything and everything!! i've put him down as established and would absolutely love pre-game cr, whether that's friends, reluctant business partners, co-workers, rivals/enemies, etc... what have you. i am interested in having him pursue the resistance route at some point down the line, so some build up in that regard would be fantastic.

Primary Faction Goals: Balancing her strong sense of honor against the RAC's style of "the end justifies the means" method of getting results. Realistically, she's holding herself back from more rapidly gaining status with all the strict code of conduct policing, but on the other hand...
Secondary Faction Goals: WHY CAN'T EVERYONE JUST STOP BEING ASSHOLES TO EACH OTHER????
Desired CR: Pls stop dumping this friendship on her what is she supposed to do with all these friendship bracelets... More ties to Resistance/Neutral parties would be rad! So far she's invested in a few RAC and Company folks, so having a few others to balance out is ideal.
Offered CR: Stoic linefacing while judging your life choices. Very politely telling you to stop being a weenie and face your responsibilities!!!

Location: Westerley
Primary Faction Goals: She was promoted from three to four, I think! But because of this combined with the riots, she'll probably be lying low for a bit -- taking low level warrants she can do solo for the cash and hitting up people she likes to just spend time with them. She'll most likely go as security for the Nine party but that's about it!

She'll also probably end up going through the psych eval for RAC though, to ensure her neutrality since Hawke has IC history of being involved in civil wars. As a result, she'll still continue to pull back and try and ignore the politics. There's a bit of unraveling going on there but it's locked up tight. Anyone who spends enough time with Hawke can probably sense the irritation she feels every time someone brings up the Resistance/Hyperion.

Secondary Faction Goals: Hawke has a tendency to like, bail now when it feels like conflict is arising. So, she's been thinking a lot about leaving the Quad (even though technically, not something she can do -- she doesn't know that). So, dreams! She'll be having some dreams about her time in Kirkwall and they'll all have to deal with her citizenship in some way. Things that made her feel at home there, things that didn't. I'm not super dead set yet but I'll definitely be putting up something when I figure it out! Also, Fenris might be embarrassing her so that's fun too.

Desired CR: Friendship! Her two closest rn are Jack and Bucky who are both terrible for different reasons. Who wants to be bros with Hawke? Just to kick it with, have drinks and grab food and sit and people watch sometimes. Just chill with her!!

Long Term Faction Goals: Start a civil war, bring down the Company and the Nine, basically destroy society ( slow down mr. edgelord )
Short Term Faction Goals: All of the discord among the ranks of the Resistance, including the gangs, plays into his hands, so he'll be sitting back and letting those things play out while gathering what influence he can
Secondary Faction Goals: As the leader of Hyperion: Blossom, Takasugi is going along with whatever directives the faceless amalgamation gives him... sort of

Primary Faction Goals: Hijikata has been granted higher clearance for cool weapons, so he'll give the armory a cursory perusal. This also means he'll be taking on a 'softie' for training in a dangerous area, which isn't something he's thrilled about. Even less exciting is his mandatory stress training

Primary Faction Goals: After going to Westerley as part of the Good Will Corps, as well as witnessing the Leithian indifference/passivity to the current events, he's become increasingly more interested in joining the Resistance. He'll probably be turning to Scarbacks that he knows are involved for advice, as he was previously a little naive to it.
Secondary Faction Goals: He'll be striking like many of the other Leithians and generally be very vocally displeased with the Leithian bans on aiding Westerley.

Primary Faction Goals: Since she's a cell leader in Hyperion, she'll just be carrying out the missions they give her while mentally going 'i'm not sure i trust these guys at all'.

She'll also be trying to help people who get hurt the gang attacks and probably... Might be a target herself, after what happened during the riots oops.

Secondary Faction Goals: Nooot much else, but she'll be going to Leith a lot once the chaos flares up there, since she's worried about her sis.

Desired CR:
- More friends! She's genuinely very nice, even if she sucks at social skills...

Location: allll over, he's a busy man
Primary Faction Goals: He's a Hyperion cell leader, and while he's VERY wary of Hyperion and their intentions, he's going to try to make the best out of a strange situation and use their resources and such to accomplish Resistance goals. He wants the Nine and the Company gone for good, and he doesn't care who has to be hurt or sacrificed for that (except for the 0.5% of people he truly likes).
Secondary Faction Goals: Probably dig into Hyperion and find out what their deal is, while protecting the ones he loves.

Desired CR:
- More CR in general! Give me your Company people to butt heads with...your Resistance members he will literally kill people to protect...buddies he can commiserate over hating capitalism with...
- If you've got a monstrous/terrible/violent character, Steinbeck is a-okay with hanging out with that kind of person and would be happy to have people who won't raise a fuss about his cruel tendencies to hurt others.

John Steinbeck is like Hannah Montana in that HE IS THE BEST OF BOTH CR WORLDS - in that Steinbeck can be an incredibly loyal source of positive CR or a living nightmare of negative CR that will do all he can to make the people he hates miserable. If you're from the Company or the Nine, it will almost always be the latter. I'm sorry. Overall, Steinbeck can be a quite pleasant, yet utterly ruthless person who is weirdly obsessed with plants, and his faith for the Mother Tree and his masochistic rituals are a huge part of his life. He's morally grey and can be manipulated through his emotions and his connections if you're looking for a good target (though Steinbeck really is the type to stab people in the back if the going gets tough).

Primary Faction Goals: Unlike her fellow Leithians, humanitarian aid is her number one priority. She is going to go against the grain and continue to help facilitate help. But since she's the only surviving member of her family, yeah, she'll still focus on her financial security and the orphan she took in. She is a part of a Hyperion cell... albeit, very reluctantly. She still harbors a lot of distrust to Westerly. So she is starting to slowly teeter into other things!

And because the whole thing with Leithians is to keep quiet and keep her head down, this is a good time for her to get rid of her lawyer that is constantly trying to institutionalize her and take her money :')!!!

Secondary Faction Goals: She's not gonna be happy about the whole drift away from humanitarian aid and Alice is definitely going to be pretty vocal about that. This is a good time to help persuade her into other things. At the moment, she doesn't know much about Hyperion and is pretty indifferent to them.

Desired CR:
- Definitely more CR because I feel like this will be Alice's big tipping point to gain independence for herself and start branching out.
- Alice is very passionate about helping others right now, especially children, so anyone with similar feelings is awesome.
- SHE NEEDS FRIENDS. Steinbeck and tentatively Handsome Jack are her only friends. Sion is just some weirdo that fusses over her and who she shin kicks time to time. And Lavi is creeping into the friend area.

Offered CR:
While she's pretty damaged and has lived basically six months in isolation, being manipulated and gaslighted by her family lawyer, Alice is, for lack of better words, really starting to grow up and finding her own voice in this chapter. Alice is a very loyal friend and she's also very protective of people close to her. I'm open to any CR as well.

As for Alice's dreams, Alice suffers from psychosis with her trauma, so her dreams will be like her hallucinations, difficult to differentiate between reality and dreams. Also Wonderland.

Primary Faction Goals: He is becoming increasingly wary of Company things, but I think he'll be keeping his head down for now. That said, I'd be totally down inflict acclimation training on him if anyone wants to babysit him for that!
Secondary Faction Goals: He's helping with Rhys's Badlands project, so anyone else involved in that will likely see him... trying to be helpful, with varying degrees of success.
Desired CR: My settling-in process with this game has been extremely slow so I'm going to defiantly be That Guy and say Everything. Company friends (or "friends") would be nice, but negative CR would be cool, too. Someone to go on fun adventures with!! What is personal safety?
Offered CR: A friendly dude who probably thinks what you do is way more exciting than what he does, because it probably is. If you don't like Rhys, he will whiteknight him at you until you change your mind or leave, because he is a good bff.
