Hello, Overjoyed! Hopefully DW will cooperate with me enough to post this!? lord almighty... Anyways! I'm Christy and I'm bringing you your future """hero""", Handsome Jack from the Borderlands series! If you're not familiar with Borderlands, the best way to describe Jack is that he's a walking shitpost that says stupid things constantly, is a godawful human being with a delusional hero complex, but is weirdly likeable and funny. So, essentially, I'm so sorry??

For Overjoyed, this is all still essentially true, but his AU has given his backstory a few tweaks, which you can read on his application in detail if you're interested! But essentially rather than working for Hyperion, Jack is instead working quite hard for the Company instead, since he has big dreams of taking them over and reforming it from the inside. Of course, this is reforming it to his twisted specifications, but, eh, who's keeping track of that. For now, he's a semi-high ranking manager of a sector in the Prisoner Intake Facility, so if your character is either a RAC agent or a criminal, they probably know of him! And since this is the beginning of the game, this also means there's plenty of opportunity to assume CR!

So while this is a general intro post on one hand, I'd also love to hash out any pre-established CR you might be interested in, since Jack has been here for the full five years, so there are plenty of chances to have run into him. If you have an idea, hit me up! I'm super open to them, since I'm all for skipping intro threads and jumping straight into CR!

well to be fair lavi probably hates his guts too that's just no reason to be rude you know?? you can pleasantly despise someone, he does it all the time!

UMM I'm thinking of setting up a pre-game log.. Lavi is generally the one sent to handle talking to people because lol Kanda we use our words not our knives.. maybe a warrant or another that specifically designated being handed off to Jack and not just at Intake itself?

OOOR just a warrant briefing since that would give them more reason to talk than Lavi just ":3 hi here's the dirtbag you ordered he kinda smells! thanks for your business!" If it was a level 3 or below it could be just lavi x jack one on one time (who stepford smile more?!) or..

idk. things. throws them at you. if you'd rather plot on plurk I tend to be a bit better about that as well!

I mean if people like Jack, that doesn't reflect too well on them considering he's Terrible, so, you know, good...

I really like the first idea, especially since Jack is probably a frequent user of the warrant system himself! It's totally possible that he would have put out the warrant requesting the person come to him specifically because he had his own Plans for them, but. If that's a little too morally questionable for it to be feasible, then I'd guess that Jack probably has the kind of reputation where he might be known for dealing with Bad Dudes personally, so I can see a warrant having a request to be sent to Jack's sector pretty easily too...

Though as I type this out, this could probably lead into part two there anyways! Like Jack handles the processing, then decides to see about hiring Lavi (+ Kanda?) for a warrant of his own possibly...? Though I will say keeping Jack talking is not hard, so it shouldn't be too difficult to keep the conversation flowing lmao... He's a talker.
