Chapter 2 OOC Information + Plotting
Chapter 2 Launch
Chapter 2 Event Log is up for your review. Please feel free to post there or your own logs for the event - whichever works best for you.
Chapter 2 Calendar / Timeline is available here for the expected timeline of the month.
Note that for the public broadcasts (noted in the above timeline), we'll be putting up the new posts as they get closer to real-time. As such, the first broadcast is available here.
To help you get started, here are some potential quick notes for things you could do with these prompts--but feel free to expand or come up with something entirely on your own!
Prompt Notes
The Nine
Other members of the Nine have also decided that they need their own verification, so this is an opportunity for characters that are members of the Nine to step in and either help or hinder Land Kendry's ambitions.
The Company
Maybe even both?
After the pandemic starts on Leith, however, priorities will shift a bit. Some will be needed to provide security around the quarantine zones while others will be needed to guard the medical teams as they struggle with a rapidly declining population across not just one moon, but two.
Westies
True Leithians
Leithians
Resistance
The RAC
Our first warrant posting is available here, with listings for both general warrants and plot specific ones, so glance them over, plot it out here, and then sign up there!
Major Plot Points
P43X - Bio Attack
Note that participation is optional; you can sidestep the infection itself as long as your character isn't in the direct line of exposure (Leithian bazaar, W2D6) and have them participate in the form of relief work, trying to escape the paranoid and manic NPCs (or PCs), and etc! This is a great opportunity to start messing with their memory regains in the form of fevered-delirium, although whether or not those regains are fully accurate is up to you -- they're ill, after all!
Additionally, since death is permanent here, we recommend leaving the brain death to NPCs.
Stage | Time (Days) | Symptoms |
0 (Incubation) | 2-3 | Exposure without symptoms. |
1 (Prodromal) | 1-2 | Nonspecific symptoms begin to appear: fatigue, muscle pain, auditory hallucinations, mild fever, dizziness, fainting, difficulty breathing, loss of appetite. |
2 (Acute) | 3-4 | High fevers, multimodal hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, intense fatigue, mania, difficulty concentrating, neuropathic pain, coma, brain death. |
3 (Convalescence) | 2-3 | Symptoms begin to dissipate as the individual recovers, though the pathogen may remain present and put others at risk of infection. |
A cure will be developed and disseminated through Company, RAC, and volunteer hands between W4D3-W4D5, halting the progression of whatever stage your character happens to be in during that time and putting them into Stage 3.
Emergency Meeting of the Nine
On the last day of the chapter, an emergency meeting will be called with the Nine to discuss recent events and their response. Note that the failure of the Seventh Generation Accords is a fixed plot point, so this month we'll be taking an OOC vote on the result and using IC actions to support either end in the narrative, while returning to the cooperative style plotting seen in Chapter 1 hereafter.
Please vote, OOC, on which scenario you would prefer to see with a +1 in either the abolish or delay threads here.

Location: westerley!
Primary Faction Goals: the j-star item recovery warrant, probably. . . i.e. the week that keith finally convinces one of the local dealers to rent a ship to him, only to crash it in a chase that isn't technically part of the warrant, so he can't even attempt to expense it.
he'll also badly want in on the zan nikora warrant, but that's up to the rng gods and anybody willing to partner with him.
Secondary Faction Goals: n/a, too complex for dumb boys.
Desired CR: infobrokers -- specifically, someone who can (i) pass him information on a seedy shipdealer's business so that he can finally convince someone to rent something that'll get him off-planet; (ii) tell him about zan nikora, because fuck if keith listens to info on a regular basis. look, he'll pay for info and he'll ask very nicely.*
mechanics -- given his Extremely Real Westerley Backstory (TM), keith ttttends towards occasionally hotwiring vehicles to get around the city. that + the item recovery warrant means that he will probably . . . need someone who'll let him open up a tab. or maybe just hassle him for the increasing amount of money he'll come to owe them over time. i'm really good for either.
level four agents -- as a reminder, keith is a useless shounen wannabe with a passion for the right thing!!11 . . . which means he's perfectly happy to corner agents of the right level and demand to be taken along. if you're into getting yowled at by an angry spacecat, we should chat. ♥
??? -- i am always perfectly happy to make up hijinks if you're remotely interested in tagging. the item recovery warrant could be for a contested shipment of fertiliser on leith that keith accidentally upends on your character while towing it back to the owner! it could be a particularly rich and elderly nine-knockoff who's weirdly convinced that you're a prime suspect in the theft of the century: his cat's missing collar! etc etc. i am really all about making stuff up gratuitously.
val-my-val -- I CAN SEE YOU THINKING ABOUT SKIPPING OVER MY COMMENT AND AM CALLING YOU OUT.
( * he will say "please" once after five minutes' silence while glowering. )
Offered CR: in general — stupid, angry boy who shouts way too much not to be enjoying it at least a little. for this specific round: keith won't be getting sick! so if you wanted someone to hold your delirious character on a leash, i am here for you.
Anything else? i was extremely slow last month and am slowly revving back to speed! let's tag, overjoyed. ♥

- cruella de vil: the acid rain was shit for meat deliveries to the seedier businesses, which have received several spoiled shipments. some freewheeling dealers have taken it upon themselves to snap up straying dogs for Nefarious Purposes. (the purpose is that the dogs get eaten.) keith takes a warrant for a missing dog, because (i) it pays well and (ii) that's how fucking low he is on the totem pole; but guess who's the next target on the puppynapping agenda.
- semi plot-related bullshit: keith listens to the public broadcast, as opposed to just the local shitposts, and tries to find a company contact who won't be such a shit, so's he can find out what's likely to be coming down the pipeline. this mostly consists of lurking outside some company outpost once he's finished a warrant.
- actual plot-related bullshit: rounding up sick folk together while trying to figure out how not to catch it themselves?? i'm picturing them, like, driving a flock of wild-eyed fevered zombies down a narrow street -- surely the company must have some thoughts for dealing with contagion en masse.
- the grudge (tm): some npc's developed weak, petty spite against the all-powerful company after the events of chapter 1, and basically sets up an item retrieval warrant that very thinly sets riza up as the supposed culprit, for no other reason than because they know where she lives and that she works for the company. unfortunately, keith's not a detective and it's a long fucking week, meaning he breaks into riza's apartment without asking too many questions.
??? I CAN INVENT MORE IF THESE DON'T WORK, but first, naps are in order. ):

who needs plot-related bullshit when there can be dog-napping, i vote the first one (and technically the first could lead into the second later on if you want stupid inbox threads)
i am actually going to top level this time like a Real Roleplayerâ„¢ so i'll write you a thing in an attempt not to mimic the flakiness of the croissants i so dearly love eating :(

please hit her up or whatever it is you do

but you should nap more, val-my-val. ):

here is a v terrible prompt for you, let me know if it does not work and i will rewrite
no subject
but if there was anything you wanted to do ( i still wanna thread ), i'm game!!
no subject
and promptly just stands there like, fuck. i've never taken care of anyone in my life. can i just tie him down and leave. fuck.
i mean, i can give you a laundry list of options too, but the image struck me as hilarious.
no subject
just tie him down and tell someone keith, that's basically saving... as long as your laundry list doesn't have something you REALLY WANNA DO i'm game for this
no subject
i mean, this would mostly be an excuse to spam multiple inboxes with nonsense in the middle of Extremely Serious Plagueplot, but.
do you have thoughts!
no subject
actually itsuki's player just volunteered to take koon to a clinic if keith manages to reach him on his phone, which means this giant mess of a plan is definitely set in motion now as long as you're cool with it!! why wouldn't you want to spam a bunch of inboxes, etc
no subject
do you have preferences on which numbers get called, or shall i random roulette the game and just link you to anywhere between three to five + itsuki.
no subject
also did you want me to write you a starter for keith showing up to a dying koon, or do we wanna handwave that?
